Marijuana for Tuberculosis ? Definitely not. Inhaled smoke, THC and the other chemicals in a spliff cannot be good for the lungs. Just as tobacco is an irritant, so is Herb. Smoke has a destructive effect on the cilia in the bronchial tree.

Good for Mural Thrombosis? Impossible, Mural Thrombosis is a blood clot on the wall of the heart. I can't think of any benificial way Ganja can positively physiologically effect this disease, except to make one feel better or be more ambivalent as they are having an embolism.

In addition, recent studies have shown that there is a significantly increased risk for middle aged men, to have a heart attack after smoking.

Good for Asthma? This is debatable, since I have heard patients inform me of this (but without any controlled double blind studies ). Since there can be a emotional component of Asthma in some people, possibly altering ones consciousness, may positively affect the patient.

Doctors smoke it, Lawyers smoke it, Nurses smoke it: no debate here.
Good for Glaucoma, It has been reported that this is true, but it is out of my specialty.

Herb does stimulate appetite in many people (The mechanism is unclear) and can help nausea. In a person who is anorexic and has nausea, a little spliff might help. The problem is that if someone's nausea is due to Intestinal obstruction, and the symptoms are masked, delaying the accurate diagnosis could be detrimental.

IMO if a patient has terminal HIV or some other illness, and feels that Herb is helping, who would we be to deny them that wish?
